My story

There is a moment when everything in your life converges into a deep sense of knowing and clarity. You know it when it arrives.

This story is in honour of my becoming, of that beautiful ‘aha’ moment when I knew. Its messy, full of the moments and the mistakes that led me to this blossoming of my life. Being unshakeable, in who I am and what I bring to the world.

For years, I didn’t believe my story was one worth telling. In fact, when I listened to the horrific experiences, epic achievements and crazy adventures that some women have had, I felt truly unworthy to share my story. But in the end, I realised impact doesn’t come from drama, it comes from truth.

When I turned 60, I sensed deep shifts in my thinking. My very own mic drop moment. I know now more than ever, we need to hear all types of women’s stories—because it’s through the rise of the feminine voice that we begin to restore balance and a future to humanity.

Early Sparks—and Early Silence

As a teenager, I was a high achiever and yearned for a bigger life. I dreamed of university, maybe the stage. But instead, I got on a bus to Sydney with no job, no plan—just a hunger to start fresh, to become someone new.

Within a year, I was married and preparing for motherhood. The flame I’d felt inside—the one that whispered “there’s something bigger out there”—was buried beneath a need to belong.

That was my first betrayal of self. The first time I chose safety over possibility. This tension has been a major theme in my life.

Breakdowns Before Breakthroughs

Ten years later, my first marriage ended with betrayal. I was shattered. I was the only one in my circle who had “failed” at marriage—and the shame was suffocating.

But it was also the beginning. I wanted to be a role model for my daughter, to show her that you can rise even when everything falls apart. In hindsight, that was the moment when I began to understand what leadership looked like.

I found the emerging field of personal development and the power of mindset. I also enrolled at university as a single mum with honours in nearly every subject. I took a part-time job, raised my daughter, paid the mortgage. I chased the dream again through the steady security of a government job.

But over time, I shrank. The system rewarded conformity, not innovation. I didn’t fit. I tried. I gave it everything. But deep down, I knew—I was a square peg in a round hole.

Then came betrayal again. A second husband. A second heartbreak. But the worst part wasn’t what he did—it was how long I stayed. How long I kept pretending I was okay.

The Firestorm Years

My fifties tested me in every way. I lost my mother to cancer. Then my baby brother. Then I was diagnosed with breast cancer—twice. I left my second marriage, walked away from my safe job, and nearly drowned under the weight of financial debt that was never mine to carry alone.

There were surgeries. Hormonal chaos. Lifetime health controls. A sense of failure to find ‘my more’ as if there was an expiry date and I just didn’t have it in me. I was so busy ducking rocks for those ten years, some days I wonder how I survived.

Your secret sauce is in your journey

Amid the grief and change, I started building again—this time from the inside out. I found love again and married my soulmate. I travelled. I danced. I walked my daughter down the aisle. I became a grandmother. And I started living life on my own rhythm.

Most importantly— finding my purpose and realising I’ve been in training for this moment for my entire life. There’s the obvious, my work history across four decades. And then there’s things that define you.

My lessons, my failed moments, my successes.

My quest to find what ‘more’ means (not the right question it turns out).

My passion for possibility, future thinking and strategic action.

My current deep dive into AI.

I’ve discovered the importance of health, what wellness really means, tapping into my intuition, into the feminine energy that helps ground me and defines my inner strength.

Every experience I now see was preparing me to serve women standing at their own crossroads. And contributing my voice to the future.

When I turned 60, my friends asked me when I’m retiring. The truth is, I’m just beginning.
